This set of kitschy vintage pink donkey / mule anthropomorphic salt and pepper shakers is sure to be a conversation starter. Bright pink color and cartoonish features including pointy ears, wide eyes, and rhinestone studded smiles -- so weird but cute! Ceramic and hand painted. Appx 3 3/4" high.
Made in Japan, mid-century, possibly by Thames. Includes both salt and pepper shaker. Very good pre-owned condition, rhinestones intact. A few spots that could be wear or part of the original paint (see photos). Pepper shaker has cork stopper. Salt shaker stopper has fallen inside. No maker or Japan stamps or stickers.
